Telangana: DRI seizes foreign origin gold worth Rs 2.51 cr, three held

Hyderabad, Aug 1 (UNI) The Sleuths of Directorate of Revenue Intelligence (DRI), Hyderabad Zonal Unit, have seized foreign origin gold , worth over Rs 2.51 crore and arrested three persons at Panthangi toll Plaza, on the outskirts of the city on Thursday.
Acting on specific intelligence, the DRI officials intercepted three 3 persons at Panthangi Toll Plaza, Choutuppal in Telangana who were travelling in a car from Chennai to Bidar (Karnataka) on Wednesday.
Upon thorough questioning, they revealed that they were carrying foreign origin smuggled gold by concealing it in a specially made cavity below the handbrake.
