Puducherry, Nov 19 (UNI) A four-member unidentified gang allegedly murdered a 26-year-old youth at Iyyankuttipalayam near here in the early hours of Thursday.
According to police, a four member gang came to the Kurumampet petrol bunk at 0435 hours where Jayaprakash was working, assaulted and abducted him.
When police registered an abduction case and were on search for Jayaprakash, his body was found in a field on the Iyyankuttipalayam- Karasur road.
The gang, who abducted Jayaprakash, threw him into a field and immersed his body in the slush and then smashed his head with a boulder killing him on the spot.
Police seized the body and sent it for post-mortem.
Previous enmity is said to be the cause for the murder as Jayaprakash had a quarrel earlier with one Sabari and his gang over consuming liquor in a public place near the residence of Jayaprakash.
Police registered a case and rounded up Sabari and Tempo Raja and are on the lookout for the other two.
