Tenjipalam GP president attempts to commit suicide, rescued & admitted to MCH

Malappuram, Dec 31 (UNI) Timely intervention of a relative saved the life of T VIjith, president of Thenhipalam panchayat near here, who attempted to commit suicide early Thursday morning.
It was on Wednesday that Vijith had assumed office as the president of the panchayat. Vijith had contested as a candidate of the Indian Union Muslim League from ward 11 of the panchayat and become the president.
Police sources said it was around 8.30 that the incident occurred. The reason for him to commit suicide is unknown. He has been admitted to the Medical College Hospital (MCH), police sources added.
