Journalist of Janayugam newspaper attacked in Kerala

Idukki, Sep 2 (UNI) A journalist of Janayugam newspaper, the mouthpiece of Communist Party of India (CPI), has been attacked by miscreants with hockey sticks at Karimannur in this district of Kerala.
Talking to newspersons here on Wednesday, CPI District Secretary KK Sivaraman who demanded immediate arrest of the culprits said the journalist Jomon V Xavier has been attacked when he was returning home on Monday night.
The seriously injured journalist was admitted to a private hospital in Thodupuzha. His condition continues to be serious, according to the hospital sources. Though two persons have been identified by the police in connection with the attack, they were not arrested, the CPI leader added.
