CPI(M) branch secretary murdered

Thrissur, Oct 5 (UNI) A Communist Party of India (Marxist) local branch secretary was stabbed to death last night, allegedly by a group belonging to RSS, said Local Administration minister A C Moideen in whose constituency the incident took place said on Monday.
26-year-old PU Sanoop, was attacked by a group of men in Pudussery, near Kunnamkulam and three other CPI(M) youths were injured in the attack at 2330 hrs. Sanoop died on the spot.
While police have ruled out any political angle to the case, CPI(M) leaders have stated that the youths escaped in a car belonging to RSS-Bajrang Dal. Four of the accused were recognised by local CPM workers who were accompanying the deceased. They alleged that the rival party was waiting for Sanoop and attacked him in a pre-planned attack. About eight people, suspected to be involved in the crime, are on the run.
