Police busts inter-state drug cartel, 7 held

Itanagar, Sep 24 (UNI) Continuing its fight against drug trafficking, the Arunachal Pradesh police has busted an inter-state drug cartel and arrested seven persons besides seizing heroin worth Rs 25 lakh.
The anti-drug squad (ADS) of West Siang police arrested the seven drug peddlers from Aalo in West Siang district and Rottung in Siang district of Arunachal Pradesh, and from Jonai in Assam in last few days, a communiqué issued by the Arunachal Pradesh police said on Thursday.
On September 15, Mogum Loyi aka Shakal of Aalo was intercepted at Rottung area in Siang district while he was returning from Assam with the procured contraband substance in a car bearing Assam’s registration which was driven by one Karjom Ori. Upon search, drugs worth approx Rs five lakh were recovered from his possession and accordingly seized, it said.
