Police destroy 27,568 liquor bottles worth over Rs 36 lakh

Tirupati, Aug 9 (UNI)Police destroyed a huge quantity of liquor bottles, which were seized while being brought from neighbouring states at various places, by crushing them under a bulldozer on Friday.
As many as 27,568 liquor bottles, including quarter, half, and full bottles worth over Rs 36 lakh, were destroyed by crushing under a bulldozer by the SEB and Excise officials.
SP L Subba Rayudu told the media that importing liquor bottles from neighbouring states is an offence under Excise Act. The SEB and excise officials seized 27,568 liquor bottles, weighing 5,017.12 liters worth over Rs 36 lakh, during the raids at belt shops and during checking of vehicles at various places that were destroyed on Friday.
