Police special drive 'Parivarthana' to wean people away from Ganja cultivation

Kakinada, Nov 6 (UNI) As a part of the plan to wean away the tribals and others from ganja cultivation and smuggling, the East Godavari district police administration launched a special drive ` Parivarthana’ aimed at transforming people and enabling them to adopt new ways to make a honest living, officials said here on Saturday.
Under the direct supervision of the Superintendent of police (SP) M Ravindranath Babu the police along with special enforcement bureau (SEB) sleuths enlisting the support of local people have conducted special rallies in all the tribal villages in Rampachodavaram and Chintur police sub divisions on Saturday in this regard.
The rallies were taken out with the participation of students of schools and colleges in tribal villages under Rampachodavaram, Mothugudem, Kunavaram, Donkarai and Chintur police station limits displaying placards depicting the slogan 'Don’t cultivate Ganja’. Let us keep away from Ganja and save our youths future’ , which has appealed to the tribal people the most, police sources said.
