K-FON Project to be completed by July-2021: Thomas Isaac

Thiruvananthapuram, Jan 15 (UNI) K-FON (Kerala Fibre Optic Network) Project which aims to provide high-quality internet at affordable rate to all households and offices in the state will be completed by July-2021, Kerala Finance Minister Dr Thomas Isaac announced here on Friday.
Presenting the budget for the FY 2021-22, the minister, who assured that internet highway will not be a monopoly of any one company, said free internet will be provided to BPL families under the K-FON project.
"About 30,000 government offices will be linked through the high-speed internet. As part of the project, PoPs (Point of Presence) in 14 districts, networking operating centres and 600 offices across the state will be setup before February," the minister said.
