Bengaluru, Aug 15 (UNI) Karnataka Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai on Monday said the BJP has not forgotten Jawaharlal Nehru and accused Congress for neglecting other national icons like BR Ambedkar and Lal Bahadur Shastri.
"We haven't forgotten him and his works. We have respect for Nehru. In fact , there is a picture of him in that ad ... The families of several national icons like Subash Chandra Bose, Mahatma Gandhi, Lal Bahadur Shastri, Ambedkar are today not in mainstream politics," he said at a BJP event to commemorate 75th anniversary of India's independence.
Bommai made these remarks reacting to the Karnataka Congress on Sunday which took a dig at the BJP government for excluding Nehru in media advertisements on freedom fighters, terming its action "pathetic."
