Hyderabad, Sep 11 (UNI) Telangana Labour and Employment Minister Ch Malla Reddy told the Assembly on Friday that the government has provided temporary shelters to 4.11 lakh migrant workers in the state during the COVID lockdown period.
Replying to a question from members in the house during question hour, the Minister said instructions were issued to all Collectors and District Magistrates and Commissioner, GHMC to provide temporary shelter, food, medical facilities and other basic amenities to the migrant workers during the lockdown period.
Accordingly, 4.11 lakh migrant workers were provided temporary shelters and they had been extended financial assistance of Rs 500 and 12 kgs of rice per member of the family through the Civil Supplies Department, the Minister said.
