Telangana govt to set up task force to monitor COVID treatment in corporate hospitals

Hyderabad, Sept 9 (UNI) In the backdrop of complaints against corporate hospitals for collecting huge medical bills from COVID patients, Telangana Chief K Chandrashekhar Rao in the House on Wednesday announced the setting up of a task force headed by a senior IAS officer to monitor the treatment and investigate the charges against the corporate hospitals in the state.
Mr Rao, while replying during the short discussion in the House on, ‘COVID-19( Impact of coronavirus) in the state and measures taken by the government to control it’, said the task force which will be formed on Wednesday itself under a senior IAS officer and will give its weekly reports to the leaders of main opposition parties in the state.
There must be monitoring of corporate hospitals, the CM said, adding, we have no other option than allowing them to admit corona patients after the permission has been given by the court.
