Hyderabad, Oct 7 (UNI) Telangana BC Welfare Minister Gangula Kamalakar on Thursday informed the Assembly that 9,31,316 families or persons have benefited through Kalayana Lakhsmi and Shaadi Mubarak Schemes in the state so far.
Replying to a question raised by the members during the question hour, Mr Kamalakar said keeping in view the financial problems being faced by the poor people during the wedding of their daughters, Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao has increased the financial assistance under Kalyana Lakshmi and Shaadi Mubarak schemes from Rs 50,000 to Rs 75,000 and to Rs 1,00,116 in the state.
This is a 100 per cent grant for Backward Classes (Backward Classes (BCs), Scheduled Castes (SCs), Scheduled Tribes (STs) and Minorities.
