Telangana govt to set up task force to monitor COVID treatment in state : CM

Hyderabad, Sep 9 (UNI) Telangana Government will set up a task force headed by a senior IAS officer to monitor the COVID-19 treatment and charges being collected by corporate hospitals in the state, Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao announced in the state Legislative Assembly on Wednesday.
The decision to set up a task force was taken following a large number of complaints that corporate hospitals were charging exorbitant rates from COVID-19 patients, Mr Rao said while replying to a discussion on Coronavirus and the measures to tackle the pandemic.
The task force to be set up immediately will send weekly reports to the leaders of main opposition parties, he said, adding that stern action would be taken against corporate hospitals collecting exorbitant charges from COVID-19 patients.
