Unlike Manipal gangrape case during Cong rule, our police acted promptly in Mysuru case: K'taka CM

Bengaluru, Sep 22 (UNI) Karnataka Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai on Wednesday said the BJP government has promptly taken action in the Mysuru gang-rape case unlike Congress government, which delayed action in 2013 Manipal gang-rape case.
"Two medico-legal reports were filed. One was done on August 24 at 9.15 pm (assault case) and the other (gangrape case) was done the next day at 5.50 am. After getting these two reports, the police registered an FIR in the case. Our police have not erred and there was no delay as the Opposition Leader (Siddaramaiah) is claiming," he said in the state assembly.
"I know how you (Congress) ran the state. In the Manipal gangrape case, the police had not shifted the accused to the hospital. They did not file an FIR. They did not take the statement of the victims. This case exploded in 2013. At least our police have promptly taken action in the Mysuru gangrape case," Bommai said.
