Vijayawada, Jul 30 (UNI) Continuing the massive surge of Coronavirus positive cases in Andhra Pradesh, as many as 10,167 fresh cases were reported during the last 24 hours taking the total number of cases to 1,30,557 while 68 more patients died taking the death toll to 1,281.
A health bulletin here on Thursday said that 70,068 swab samples of persons were tested from 9 am on Wednesday to 9 am this morning and of which 10,167 diagnosed positive for the virus.
Large number of new cases were reported in East Godavari district (1441), Kurnool district (1252), Visakhapatnam district (1223), West Godavari district (998), and Anantapur district (954).
Of the total 1,281 fatalities, most of the deaths took place in Kurnool district (187), Krishna district (160), East Godavari district (157), Guntur district (121), Anantapur district (105), Chittoor district (101) and Visakhapatnam district 100.
As many as 69,252 patients are undergoing treatment in various hospitals while 60,024 patients have been discharged after they had recovered.
Out of the total 1,30,557 cases, 19,180 cases were registered in East Godavari district, 15,723 cases in Kurnool district, 13,312 cases in Anantapur district, 13,762 cases in Guntur district and 11,354 in West Godavari district.
So far 18,90,077 samples of people have been tested in the state, the bulletin added.
