Vijayawada, Jul 24 (UNI) A massive spike of fresh positive cases of Coronavirus continued in Andhra Pradesh as 8,147 new cases were reported since the last 24 hours taking the total number of active cases to 80,858 while 49 more patients died taking the death toll to 933.
According to a health bulletin here on Friday, 48,114 samples of people were tested from 9 am on Thursday to 9 am this morning and of which 8,147 persons tested positive for the virus.
Of the 933 total deaths, highest number of deaths have taken place in Kurnool district (150) followed by Krishna district (133), East Godavari district (107), Anantapur district (81), Guntur district (88), Chittoor district (68), Visakhapatnam district (62) and West Godavari district (66).
As many as 39,990 patients are undergoing treatment in various hospitals while 39,935 patients have been discharged after they had recovered.
Out of the total 80,858 positive cases, 11,067 cases were registered in East Godavari district, 9,615 cases in Kurnool district, 8,266 cases in Anantapur district, 8800 cases in Guntur district, 6569 cases in Chittoor district, 6541 cases in West Godavari district, 5061 cases in Visakhapatnam district and rest of the cases were registered in other districts.
About 15,41,993 samples of persons have been tested so far in the state, the bulletin added.
