Focus on helping units to go organic; Cooperation dept to announce stimulus on Oct 2

Mandya, Sep 19 (UNI) In order to support Jaggery making units (‘alemanes) in Mandya district, cooperative Minister S T Somashekar said on Saturday that the farmers will get funds under the centre’s Atmanirbhar Bharat scheme which will them go organic in production.
Speaking to media here after visiting Jaggery units he said the support was aimed at giving a promising market to Mandya’s jaggery not only in the country but internationally with the consumers preferring organic products.
He said the units would be rejuvenated with financial assistance from the Department of Cooperation under the economic stimulus announced by the Centre.
