Hyderabad, Jan 19 (UNI) The city police on Tuesday foiled Congress party’s 'Chalo Raj Bhavan' programme to protest against the three new farm laws enacted by the Union government and on the Petrol and diesel price hike.
The Congress leaders, including Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee (TPCC) President Capt N Uttam Kumar Reddy, MP were arrested by the police at Telugu Talli flyover when they tried to cross the NTR marg in a procession taken out from the Assembly to Raj Bhavan.
Speaking on the occasion, the Congress leaders demanded the withdrawal of Agricultural Laws.
They said that the farms laws were against the farmers and demanded the TRS government headed by Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao to pass a resolution against it in the Assembly.
The Congress leaders said that the common people were facing a lot of hardship with the price hike of Petrol and diesel.
They expressed their anguish over the arrest of the party leaders when they were conducting a peaceful procession.
The Congress leaders --- T Jeevan Reddy, Komatireddy Venkat Reddy, T Jayaprakash Reddy alias Jaggareddy V Hanumantha Rao and party cadre participated in the 'Chalo Raj Bhavan' programme.
