Autorickshaw, load carrier workers hold demo to condemn petrol, diesel price hike

Puducherry, Jun 10 (UNI) The autorickshaw, load carrier and tourist vehicle workers affiliated to the AITUC along with their vehicles held a demonstration on the ECR near the Latha Steels on Thursday to condemn the petrol and diesel price hike and demanded its immediate roll back.
AITUC leader Sethu Selvam in a statement said that the agitation was held abiding the COVID-19 protocol.
He charged that at a time when the unorganized sector labourers and transport sector workers are suffering a lot due to the lockdown, the Oil Companies had enhanced the petrol price 21 times from May 1 to June 9 resulting in the petrol price going up to Rs 95.81 per litre in Puducherry.
