Gold smuggling case : Youth organizations stage protest marches demanding CM's resignation

Thiruvananthapuram, Jul 10 (UNI) Youth organizations including Youth Congress, Youth League and Yuva Morcha have staged protest marches across Kerala on Friday demanding the resignation of Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan in connection with the alleged involvement of his office in the recent diplomatic baggage gold smuggling case.
In many places, the agitations turned violent after the police resorted to lathicharge to disperse youths in Thiruvananthapuram, Kollam, Kottayam, Kannur, Kozhikode and Malappuram.
Police used water canons and tear gas when the agitators tried to remove barricades in many places. Youth League held a march towards the Chief Minister's house in Kannur.
