Bengaluru, Sep 04 (UNI) The members of the Citizens for Democracy, led by former senior IAS officer Madan Gopal met the Chief Minister BS Yediyurappa on Friday and appealed to initiate appropriate actions over the violent incidents, which had rocked the city, last month.
The Committee in its report had found that in the August 11 riots, in two localities, KG Halli and DJ Halli areas, an estimated 36 government vehicles, nearly 300 private vehicles and many houses were destroyed and the extent of monetary damage estimated about Rs 10 to 15 crore.
The committee, which comprised senior Journalists, former IAS, IRS and IFS officers and Social workers had said that the report had been prepared after visiting the riot-affected areas, interacting with the victims, police and prominent people and after perusing available material evidence.
