Bengaluru, Sep 28(UNI) The bandh call given by various farmers associations and labour unions in the state evoked mixed response as the state-run transport buses and autos remained off the road on Monday.
According to official sources, the farmers had staged a 'dharna' and resorted to blocking high-ways in various parts of the state, disrupting the transportation services.
The bandh call had been given by the Farmers Associations in protest against Central as well as state governments Farm Bills, which according to them are anti-farmers in nature.
Opposition parties like the Congress and the JD(S), along with various Pro-Kannada organisations have also had extended their support to the bandh call and staged protests against the state government.
The sources said that the majority of the Agriculture Produces Markets, across the state also remained shut in support of Monday's bandh call.
