T’gana farmers would incur heavy losses if go for corn cultivation in summer: Agriculture Experts cautions

Hyderabad, Oct 10 (UNI) Telangana Agriculture experts and officials on Saturday cautioned that if farmers in Telangana go in for Corn cultivation in the summer season they will incur heavy losses.
Explaining to Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao at a review meeting held on crops cultivation and marketing at Pragathi Bhavan here, Agriculture Experts and officials said there are adverse conditions prevailing in the country as far as cultivation of Corn is concerned and it is not advisable to go in for that crop in the state now.
They said that with the policy decisions taken by the Centre on Corn import, the Corn is not in a position even to get a Minimum Support Price (MSP).
