Telangana revenue receipts increased significantly by 25 pc: CAG Report

Hyderabad, Aug 2 (UNI) The Comptroller and Auditor General (CAG) of India's Compliance Audit Report on Telangana's revenue sector for the year ending March 31, 2023, presented in the Legislative Assembly on Friday indicated a significant 25 percent increase in the state's revenue receipts.
However, the growth rate of revenue receipts decreased by one percent. The CAG report noted that the state's Gross State Domestic Product (GSDP) increased by 16 percent in 2022-23 compared to 2021-22. While revenue receipts increased by 25 percent, the growth rate saw a one percent decline. The report explained that its tax revenue grew significantly by 17 percent.
The estimated cost of irrigation projects increased to Rs 2,06,977 crore, with the cost of 20 projects slated for completion by March 2023 also rising.
