Stringent action to be initiated against violators of quarantine laws

Puducherry, Aug 29 (UNI) The Puducherry administration would initiate stringent action under the Disaster management Act -2005 and Epidemic Act 1897, against the Coronairus disease (COVID 19) patients who violate the home quarantine law.
District Collector and District Magistrate T Arun, in a release on Saturday, said that the administration is taking all steps to curb the spread of COVID 19 in the union territory and those in home quarantine were time and again advised not to leave their homes. However, reports were there that a few are violating the law and wandering which will lead to the surge in the number of COVID patients here.
Hence, police and health department staff were directed to watch them and further “Quarantine watch app” and “COVID 19- Quarantine Alert System-“(CQAS) will also be utilized in the case of those in home quarantine.
