Pondy govt declares holiday in UT on Nov 5

Puducherry, Nov 3 (UNI) The government on Wednesday declared November 5, the day after Diwali, a holiday for all government offices in Puducherry, Karaikal and Yanam regions of the Union Territory.
According to an official notification, November 13 will be a working day to compensate for the holiday.
It may be noted that the leader of the opposition and DMK Puducherry Unit Convener R Siva had written a letter to Chief Minister N Rangaswamy in this regard citing that the Tamil Nadu government had declared a holiday on November 5 to compensate with another working day.
