Pondy CM urges Jaishankar to ensure release of Karaikal/TN fishermen

Puducherry, July 4 (UNI)Puducherry chief minister N Rangasamy on Monday urged union External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar to take immediate steps to ensure the release of fishermen from Tamilnadu and Karaikal abducted by the Sri Lankan Navy yesterday.
In a letter to Jaishankar, Rangasamy said that the fishing boat of Vaidyanathan of Keezhakasakudi ,Karaikal was detained and confiscated by ,‐ Sri Lankan Navy along with the crew members.
Five of the crew members are from Karaikal region of the union territory while, seven are from Tami Nadu, he added.
