Crops in over 10,000 hectares damaged in EG dist: Collector

Rajahmundry, AP, July 20 (UNI) East Godavari district Collector P Prashanthi said that as per the preliminary assessment, crops in over 10,000 hectares were damaged due to floods and assured of taking steps to extend crop loss insurance.
Collector Prasanthi visited some of the flood and rain-affected areas on Saturday in Nallajerla Mandal. The Collector directed the officials to shift people living in flood prone areas to the relief centres. She visited a relief centre and interacted with the flood victims.
Collector Prashanthi directed the officials to provide all required facilities to the flood victims in the relief centres. She reviewed the Yerrakalva devastation with the Tahasildar and other officials.
