Encroachments on drains, field canals at 4100 places to be removed on war footing: EG Collector

Kakinada, Nov 19 (UNI) East Godavari Collector D Muralidhara Reddy has said that there were encroachments of drains and field canals at as many as 4100 places in the district and orders were issued to remove them on war footing.

Addressing the officials of irrigation, agriculture, horticulture and fisheries departments at a meeting held at the Collectorate here on Thursday,he said the encroachments removal work was on full swing and every effort should be made to ensure that water for irrigation should reach the tail end lands by clearing the weeds under constant monitoring and supervision.
