AP, Odisha CMs decide to resolve issues amicably

Vijayawada, Nov 9 (UNI) The Chief Ministers of Odisha and Andhra Pradesh had a very cordial and fruitful meeting on Tuesday. Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy and Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik held discussion on various issues in Bhubaneswar on Tuesday.
A release from the AP Chief Minister’s office here on Tuesday said that a number of issues of mutual interest were discussed by the two Chief Ministers, particularly in the field of water resources, common boundary, and energy and left-wing extremism. It was decided to work closely on resolving the following including the Kotia group of villages
Naredi Barrage, Janjhavati Reservoir, Polavaram project, release of water for Bahuda river, Mutual NOC for the Balimela and Upper Sileru in the Energy sector. Both the states resolved to extend support towards tackling the problem of left-wing extremism and ganja cultivation.

ECI directs paid holidays for voters; Telangana Govt orders for polling days

Hyderabad, April 24 (UNI) The Election Commission of India (ECI) has issued a communication stipulating that every individual employed in any business, trade, industrial undertaking, or establishment, eligible to vote in elections to the House of the People or the Legislative Assembly of a State, shall be granted a paid holiday under Section 135 B of the Representation of People Act.
