Five women labourers die, 3 injured in fireworks factory blaze, CM announces Rs 2 lakh ex-gratia

Madurai, Oct 23 (UNI) Five women labourers were charred to death and three others seriously injured in a major inferno that swept through a private fireworks factory at M Sengulam village under T Kallupatti block here on Friday.
Police said the deceased were identified as K Ayyammal (65), P Suruliammal (51), M Veluthaai (45), P Lakshmi (40) and S Kaleeswari (35).
The fire broke out at Rajalakshmi Fireworks Factory, this afternoon leading to a series of explosions, when the labourers were engaged in making fancy variety crackers.
