Electrician dies of electrocution in AP

Kakinada, Jul 8 (UNI) A private electrician has died of electrocution while working on an electric pole in Velicheru village of Atreyapuram mandal 80 km from here on Wednesday.

The electrician climbed up the pole to undertake repairs to the agriculture motor pump set when the mishap occurred.

GP polls: CPI objects govt announcing cash incentives for unanimous elections

Vijayawada, Jan 28 (UNI) CPI State secretary K Rama Krishna here on Thursday took strong exception to the government announcing cash incentives for unanimous elections in the ensuing Gram Panchayat (GP) polls.
The CPI leader demanded the government to disclose why the government announced crores of rupees incentives to the Gram Panchayats for unanimous elections. He said that all are expected that the Supreme Court judgement on the GP polls would change the mind-set of the AP government but the ministers were making provoking statements. Announcing incentives for unanimous elections is politically motivated, the CPI leader flayed.
