Indian Gamers: What You Need to Know About the Chinese Gambling Rackets

Hyderabad, Nov 6, 2020 (UNI/HTDS) police uncovered an Indian-based online gambling racket run by Chinese nationals with the help of Indian nationals, which involved crores of rupees being transferred and redistributed between digital wallets and bank accounts belonging to those involved. One of the online wallets, Paytm, was suspended for a day by Google. It, understandably, might make Indian gamers wary of online casinos – and with good reason. Gamers are committing their money and they have the potential to lose it. What follows are things to know about the Chinese gambling rackets and what gamers can do to avoid being fooled. Chinese Gambling Rackets Due to the Telangana’s government banning online gambling in 2017, the Hyderabad police were able to chase and bust the online gambling racket. The money laundering operation, under the guise of online betting, was operating across many Indian states, including Delhi. Companies would be set up in India before Chinese nationals would take up directorship. Bank accounts with online wallets were opened by locals to enable to the transfers of funds. These online wallets were negligent in their security mechanisms and processes, which meant large sums of money would move without detection or suspicion. A company called Beijing T Power seemed to be the source, as it was noticed they were establishing lots of companies to help facilitate their activities. Hyderabad police commissioner Anjani Kumar said, “What we have found is that the entire technical operation was run by the China-based directors and partners of these companies while the payments were being routed through India-based payment service providers and gateways. Beijing T Power controlled the different companies.”

Players would be added to large WhatsApp and other SMS groups and given access to play games. Sites wouldn’t be active all the time. One of the games was based upon colour prediction. Players would win the early rounds, increasing the money they had to play with before the game was manipulated and players would start to lose money. Eventually, some money become lots of money. Not all of them will get their money back. At this point, the complex network of online wallets and bank accounts come into play, redistributing it to where it needs to be. Playing Safely Safe no deposit casinos in India exist. Online gambling, or gambling in general, in India is complicated. Bookmakers are illegal in India, and there are only three states in which land-based casinos are allowed to operate – Goa, Daman, and Sikkim – but it is not illegal for a citizen to place an online bet. They must do so via an offshore betting site, though. With the upcoming 2021 T20 World Cup being hosted by India, plenty of citizens might want to place bets. There are licenced places where players can gamble without the worry of losing to an illegal run operation. Finding these casinos is easy, much easier than betting on local archers. There are ways to help filter through your options and determine which is the right one for you. As mentioned earlier, safe no deposit casinos are a great option for gamers, as they won’t need to commit money to begin playing. Knowing which casinos are best for you will become clearer through your research process, but here are a few things to consider: ●    There are plenty of help-guides to explain the finer points of what casinos can offer. No deposit bonuses, sign-up bonuses, in-game bonuses, free spins: there are lots of things which sound great. However, they each come with terms and conditions which effect how applicable they are. ●    Use reviews and comparison sites to help filter out which sites work best for your desire. Match up bonuses to which games you want to play. ●    Only – this can’t be stressed enough – use online casinos which have licences. This means they are held to rigorous legal standards and can be held accountable if they don’t. Use public registers or databases to search for a casino’s licence. Recent reports of these scam sites may well be alarming to players, but with the right precautions and due diligence, playing the online casino can continue to be fun, safe, and enjoyable. Remember to always keep an eye out for the signs of a trustworthy and reliable casino and, if in doubt, turn to the experts to ensure that you are always investing your time and money into a site that will handle it with the proper care.
