Two Cong MPs express concern over monitoring of Chinese co on Indian people

New Delhi, Sep 16 (UNI) Congress members K C Venugopal and Rajiv Satav on Wednesday raised concern over news reports of alleged tracking of more than 10,000 prominent Indians and organisations by a
Chinese tech company and sought its reaction.
Raising the issue during Zero Hour, Mr Venugopal told Chairperson M Venkaiah Naidu, "I would like to invite
the attention of this House through you Chairman, a shocking news which is related to national security and
privacy of Indian citizens."
Citing from a report in a leading national daily, Mr Venugopal said a Chinese technology company based in Shenzen was tracking over 10,000 Indians and organisations in its global data base of foreign targets.

The list of prominent citizens included the President, the Vice President himself, the Prime Minister and
opposition leaders, chief ministers, MPs, the army chief and industrialists, he added.
Stating that it was a major area of concern, he asked "Has Government taken track of it? If so, what action
has been taken."
His party colleague Rajiv Satav similarly termed it as a serious issue and demanded government clarification
so that the truth would emerge, asking how could a Chinese company spy of prominent people.
At this, Mr Naidu asked the Minister of Parliamentary Affairs to take note of it and inform the minister concerned.
