New Delhi, Sep 15 (UNI) Congress on Tuesday staged a walkout, after Defence Minister Rajnath Singh made a detailed statement in the Lok Sabha on developments in border areas in Ladakh, involving the stand-off with China.
Walking out of the House, the Congress members said the Government was shying away from a debate on the issue of stand off at the LAC with China in Ladakh.
They wanted a discussion on the border stand-off. Speaker Om Birla referred to Rule 372, saying a discussion cannot be allowed and he would give his observation later.
The Congress members walked out, noisily protesting that their demand for a discussion and seeking clarification on the border stand-off in Ladakh was not allowed. A DMK member, sitting in the Lok Sabha gallery, briefly held up a poster, demanding discussion on China and answer by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
