Assam tops in Japanese encephalitis cases

New Delhi, Aug 5 (UNI) Assam reported the highest number of cases of Japanese Encephalitis (JE) in the country in 2021, the government said on Friday.
Union Minister of State for Health Bharati Pravin Pawar said this in the Lok Sabha. He said Assam reported 218 cases of JE in 2021 followed by Jharkhand (180) and Uttar Pradesh (153).
Tripura reported 25 cases, Manipur 13 and Meghalaya two in this period. In 2022 till June, Assam reported 320 cases.
