Huge consignments of liquor seized in 'dry' Bihar

Patna, Oct 07 (UNI) In continuing drive against smuggling of foreign liquor into 'dry' Bihar, police seized huge consignments of foreign liquor in Samastipur and Madhubani districts today.According to a report from Samastipur, police seized 105 cartons of foreign liquor from a truck near Khanpur roundabout under Khanpur police station area early this morning when the consignment was being smuggled from Haryana. The peddlers made good escape from the spot after they got inkling of police raid.According to a report from Madhubani, police seized 597 bottles of Nepalese liquor from an auto rickshaw near Brahamasthan on Viraul-Sukhat road under Jhanjharpur police station area in the district.Police said that three peddlers were arrested from the spot. The nabbed bootleggers had been identified as Sujit Thakur, Mohammed Rahim Mansuri and Mohammed Anwar. An intensive interrogation of nabbed peddlers is on to arrest other members of their gang, police added.UNI DH KK
