Hamirpur (HP), July 17 (UNI) With the Southwest Monsoon being strong over the state , moderate to heavy rainfall occurred at most places over the state during the last 24 hours.
Maximum rainfall of Rainfall was recorded at Kasauli with 163mm, followed by Bilaspur, Mandi & Rampur with-38mm each, Manali-43, Una Rampur-42, Jhandutta, Pandoh-37, Una-34, Aghar-33, Berthin-33, & Gohar-20 each.
It rained heavily in various parts of the lower hill areas of the state including the districts of Hamirpur, Una and Kangra.
A spokesman of the Meteorological department of India said no large change in Minimum temperatures and average Minimum temperatures were normal.
Today the maximum temperature was recorded at Una = 38.60C.
Similarly, the Lowest temperature was recorded at Keylong = 12.20C .
The department has forecast that Moderate to Heavy rainfall is likely to continue over many parts of the state in the coming five days.
There will be disruptions of essential services viz. water and electricity, communications and related services and the visibility will be poor.
It has warned of the possibility of Landslides due to heavy rainfall in hilly regions.
Follow the advisories and guidelines issued by the departments concerned. Take adequate safety measures.
Make proper drainage channels on account of heavy rain.
To avoid direct impact of heavy rainfall, thunderstorm and lightning on new saplings, make adequate arrangements.
Farmers are advised to reschedule the spraying of insecticides.
Stay away from tall trees or other objects.
Keep the bee colonies disease free, neat and clean and also arrange for drainage facilities and avoid irrigation during spells of heavy rainfall.
