High reaches of Himachal experience snowfall; Thundershower lashes few places

Shimla, Jan 24 (UNI) The high reaches of Himachal Pradesh experienced snowfall in a few places in the last 24 hrs increasing the cold wave and thundershowers also lashed many places in the state.
Bharmour in Chamba had 30 cm snowfall, Keylong 15 cm, Hansa of Chamba 7.6 cm and Kalpa in Kinnaur 4.5 cm.
Report of Heavy snowfall is coming from Manimahesh Ranges of Chamba, Sachpass, Baralacha and Rohtang Pass of Lahaul Spiti. Dhauladhar ranges of Kangra, Kinnaur Kailesh and other high reaches of Shimla, Kullu and Sirmaur district got light to moderate spells of snowfall.
The tourists also made beelines on the weekend holiday at Shimla, Kufri, Fagu and Narkanda however no snowfall was recorded in these places.
Kangra had 25.4 mm rainfall, Palampur 17 mm, Dharmshala 14.8 mm, Chamba 20 mm, Manali in Kullu 10 mm, Bhuntar 3.8 mm, Una 3.2 mm, Jubberhati in Shimla and Mandi two mm each, Seobagh in Kullu 1.8 mm, Shimla 1.7 mm and Sundernagar 1.6 mm.
The minimum temperature was one to two degree above normal in the state as Keylong was minus nine degrees, Kalap minus four degrees, Dalhousie minus 1.8 degrees, Manali 0.8 degrees, Shimla two degrees, Dharmshala 2.2 degrees, Bhuntar 4.2 degrees, Solan and Palampur 4.5 degrees, Chamba 5 8 degrees, Bilaspur, Sunder Nagar, Mandi, PontaSahib and Seobagh six degrees each, Hamirpur 6.4 degrees, Nahan 8.4 degrees, Una 8.4 degrees respectively.
The Met Office forecast mainly dry weather in the next 24 hrs.
