Shimla, Dec 28 (UNI) All major tourist resort incluiding Shimla, Kufri, Fagu, Mashobra Narkanda, Chail (Solan), Kasouli, Manali and Dalhousie received major spell of Snowfall on Monday and many places lashed by light rainfall in the state.
As people and tourists came out of their houses and hotel in the morning, they were dazle after finding there surrounding wrapped in thick blanket of snow.
Many places were raining and cloudy till this morning as thick fog covered the surrounding.
Met Office recorded one feet(30cm) Snowfall at tourist Kufri , Dalhousie in Chamba 22 cm, Tourist resort Manali 14 cm, Shimla nine mm, Jubberhati four cm and Kalpa one cm.
Power supply and Vehicular traffic was also disrupted partly but it likely to be stored soon.
Thunderstorm and inclement weather also bring cheers on the faces of farmers as the timely winter rain would help in good Rabi crops.
Report of rain or Snowfall also arriving all state and minimum temperatures plunged down several degrees below the normal.
Palampur in Kangra recorded 16 mm rain, Nahan in Sirmaur 14.6 mm, Solan 13.8 mm, Chamba 13 mm, Kangra 12.8 mm,Una 9.8 mm, Sundernagar 8.8 mm, Mandi 8.4 mm, Bhuntar 7.9 mm, Seobagh 7.4 mm, Jubberhati 7.4 mm and Dharmshala 2..6 mm.
Minimum temperature of Keylong in Lahaul Spiti district was minus 7.4 mm, Kalpa in Kinnuar minus 3.1 degrees, Dalhousie minus 3.6 mm,Kufri minus 2.4 degrees, Shimla minus 1.1 degrees and Jubberhati minus 0.1 degrees.
Tourist resort Manali was 0.2 degrees, Una and Hampur 2.8 degrees each, Bilaspur three degrees, Chamba and Mandi 3.2 degrees, Bhuntar in Kullu 3.9 degrees, Sundernagar four degrees, Kangra five degrees and Nahan in Sirmaur 7.9 degrees.
Met Office forecast mainly dry weather in next 24 hrs in the state.
