UP procures over 11.32 lakh MT of paddy

Lucknow, Nov 29 (UNI) Ensuring timely payments to the farmers against the purchase of their produce, the Uttar Pradesh government has bought around 11.32 lakh metric tonnes of paddy so far in the ongoing Kharif marketing season at minimum support price. The purchase has benefitted more than 1.62 lakh farmers across the state.

In line with the instructions of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, arrangements have been made to ensure farmers are not harassed by middlemen. Strict monitoring is also being done to make the process smooth, informed Saurabh Babu, Commissioner, Food and Civil Supplies here on Monday.
