Lucknow, Sep 30 (UNI) Ahead of the court verdict on the Babri Masjid demolition case, a high alert has been sounded across Uttar Pradesh on Wednesday.
Security has been toughened in 25 districts that are known to be communally sensitive areas in the state. Special security arrangements have also been made in Ayodhya where police personnel have been deployed in adequate numbers.
Police sources here said Rapid Action Force (RAF) personnel too, have been deployed in Lucknow and Ayodhya. The CID, Lucknow intelligence unit and the CRPF are manning the complex with dog squads in the court that has been fitted with new CCTV cameras.
In Lucknow over 2,000 police personnel, half of them in civil clothes, have been deployed to ensure the security of the area, near the court area.
SP Traffic Purnendu Singh said that all vehicular traffic has been banned in the area and only ambulances, fire brigades and hearse vans will be allowed to move. This will remain in force till the court verdict is announced.
Meanwhile, several of the 32 accused have reached the court along with their lawyers.
