Top LeT commander among 2 militants killed in Srinagar encounter, operation over

Srinagar, Jul 25 (UNI) Two Lashker-e-Toiba (LeT) militants, including a top commander active since 2018, were killed by security forces in an encounter which ensued during a Cordon and Search Operation (CASO) in the Srinagar outskirts on Saturday, a police spokesman said.
He said troops of Rashtriya Rifles (RR), Special Operation Group (SOG) of Jammu and Kashmir police and CRPF launched a joint CASO early this morning at Ranbirgrah Panzinara on Srinagar-Bandipora road following a tip-off about the presence of militants.
However, encounter breaks out after militants opened indiscriminate firing with automatic weapons when security forces were moving towards a particular area in the open field in the cordoned off area.
