Militants attack police party in Sopore, no report of injury

Baramulla, Aug 5 (UNI) Militants fired upon a police party in the apple township of Sopore in north Kashmir district of Baramulla on Thursday, official sources said.
They said militants fired a few shots from a distance towards the police party at main Chowk Sopore today. Security forces present in the area did not retaliate, they added.
Additional security forces were rushed and a massive search operation has also been launched, they said.
No loss of life or injury has been reported so far. Further details are awaited.
