Punjab Police conducts online training program on child rights & child protection

Chandigarh, Sep 16 (UNI) In a bid to weed out child labour, child trafficking, domestic and sexual abuse from the society, the Community Affairs Division of the Punjab Police in collaboration with NGO Bachpan Bachaho Andolan, on Wednesday organised an online training program on Child Rights and Child Protection for the officials of the Punjab Police investigating cases under POCSO Act and responsible for implementation of provisions of Juvenile Justice Act, 2015.
Stating this here, an official spokesperson of Punjab Police said around 200 Police officials of five districts would be trained in the first phase from September 16 to 30. A total of four workshops would be conducted over the span of next two weeks by experts on various children/juvenile Acts such as Juvenile Justice (Care & Protection of Children) Act, 2015, Child Sexual Abuse, POCSO Act, 2012, Child Marriage Act 2006, Human trafficking & SOP of Missing Children and Child Labour.
He informed that the first such online workshop was inaugurated by Additional Director General of Police, Community Affairs Division (CAD), Gurpreet Deo from CAD office, SAS Nagar. In this online program, 57 Police officials of Ludhiana Commissionerate are participating in this 3 days workshop.
