Lucknow, Sep 22 (UNI) “Nationalism is the supreme religion. No one is above it. That’s why we have focused on building roads, providing electricity to every village and ensuring water supply to the remotest corners of Uttar Pradesh, issues of people at large that the previous governments neglected. Our focus is on ensuring a life of dignity for every individual of the state, irrespective of caste or creed”, said Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Wednesday.
Unveiling the statue of King Mihir Bhoj in Hapur, a ninth century king, CM Yogi said that Bhoj believed in nationalism and it was because of the sense of security given by him to the people of the country that foreign invaders did not attack India for one and a half centuries after his rule.
He added: “A nation that forgets its history and traditions cannot protect its geography. Bhoj’s life was dedicated to preserving India’s glorious past and national prestige. Similarly, today’s India has risen above caste and community politics in national interest. We don’t discriminate among people on the basis of caste and community. Our priority is development, irrespective of caste of creed.”
