Srinagar, Jul 23 (UNI) Amidst chanting of Vedic hymn the “ Chhari-Sthapana”, associated with annual pilgrimage to holy Amarnath cave shrine in south Kashmir Himalayas, was performed on Thursday at Shri Amareshwar Temple Akhara building, Budshah Chowk near here.
Though the annual yatra has been cancelled due to COVID-19 pandemic, all age old rituals associated with the pilgrimage will be performed as per traditions, custodian of the Chhari Mubarak , holy silver Mace of Lord Shiva Mahant Deependra Giri said.
A group of sadhus led by Mahant Giri performed the Puja during the Chhari Sthapana-- one depicting Lord Shiva and another Goddess Parvati—at Amareshwar temple.
