Kawardha, Nov 20(UNI) Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Dr Raman Singh today claimed that polling for 2nd phase of assembly elections today would be positive for BJP and added that BJP would form government in the state for 4th consecutive term.
Talking to the reporters after voting in his home town here today Dr Singh said that according to
reports BJP would win 50 out of 72 seats in the second phase. BJP would get 14 out of 18 seats of first
phase, he said.
He also considered Janta Congress-BSP alliance as crucial third force saying that
presence of third force was seen on 25 to 30 seats. However, the division of votes with presence of
third force would directly benefit BJP, he said.
When asked about Congress allegation of large scale EVM defects during polling today, Singh said that
this was nothing but an excuse of Congress for its defeat to be announced on December 11.
According to Dr Singh when people of Congress win elections in Karnataka and Punjab then there were no defects in EVMs but when they lose elections, they blame EVMs for their defeat. This is a part of habit of Congress, he added.
