BJP stages 'dharna' against AAP govt in Punjab

Hoshiarpur, May 5 (UNI) Hundreds of BJP workers, led by party's Hoshiarpur district president Nipun Sharma, staged a 'dharna' in front of District Administrative Complex here against the Aam Aadmi Party's (AAP) government in Punjab for its alleged failure on all fronts.
Addressing on the occasion, former Punjab Minister and senior BJP state leader Tikshan Sud, BJP leader Namisha Mehta and many others alleged that AAP government had come to power in Punjab by making false pre-poll promises before the recent state assembly elections.
They said Bhagwant Singh Mann's government had allegedly failed in fulfilling pre-poll promises due to which every section of the society had been suffering. The AAP leaders had announced to provide free 300 units of electricity to every household during pre-poll promises, but giving electricity for free was a far cry from the fact that electricity was not provided full time.
